UK Scrap Addicts scraplift challenge

I have had a blast this week creating pages for lots of UK NSD challenges.

It has been great to see so much inspiration from this side of the pond and as a result I didn't have time to join in any USA challenges this year.

UK Scrap Addicts is the new kid on the scrapbooking block and came up trumps for the scrapbooking event of the year hosting several challenges...several co-hosted by for the love of pretty paper Facebook group....all of which I loved and completed.

My final page for the NSD challenges was to scraplift a page from the scrap version of Chinese whispers.

I was inspired by Niki's page but my layout has taken on a life of it's own!!Thanks for a great challenge...here is my page...

NSD FTLOPP blog hop

This post is part of the National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop hosted by
the Facebook Group For The Love Of Pretty Paper”

If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Niki
To be in with a chance of winning the Blog Hop prize you will need to comment on this post (and on all the blogs in the hop) and when you have completed the hop, return to the Blog Hop thread on For The Love Of Pretty Paper and leave a comment to let us know you have been all the way around the hop. Visitors who leave the same (or seen to be the same by the Organisers) comment on all the blogs will not be eligible for the prize. The Closing date for Blog Hop entries is Monday 8th May at 10 pm. Only UK addresses are eligible for the prize due to postage costs. Good Luck!

After your visit here please hop on to Sue and if you lose your way or you want to start at the beginning of the hop you can find the complete list on the Facebook page here or on Fiona’s Blog.

The theme for the Blog Hop is “Favourite Technique” which is a great starting point for creating a scrapbook page.  I am not sure how to pick one, so have gone for my fave go to techniques when I need something to kickstart the creative mojo.

I love to join in with challenges or sketches and will often use my silhouette cameo. I recently completed this page for an online challenge, (main technique backing a cut file)...

and the cutfile left me with a pile of heart shapes, so I decided to use these negative shapes for a page. Firstly I went to another fave technique to create the background...

I painted the background with watercolours, used embossing paste with a stencil and added micro beads for extra texture (seen above) and some mica powder for extra sparkle (seen below)

The paper pieces are popped up on foam pads and positioned to reform the original heart shape.
I went fairly monotone with this page and after mounting the 2 photographs on vellum and striped patterned paper, I pulled out colour co-ordinated embellishments.
I have just started to store all my embellishments in colours so it made it easy to find little bits and pieces to work with the page. Some are handmade, some are from cut apart sheets, chipboard, paperclips, material and vellum all add to the textured effect of this page, another favourite technique.

Thanks for stopping off to visit my blog, remember to leave a comment and continue to enjoy the blog hop xxx
